THE TEEN POPPED A PIMPLE ON THE PART OF HER FACE CALLED THE "TRIANGLE OF DEATH".

A 19-year-old from China has suffered a severe brain infection after popping a pimple on her nose with her bare hands. According to the DailyMail, the teen (known as Yang) began to feel pain under her right eye after squeezing the pimple. Days later, her right eye had become extremely swollen, and Yang developed a fever, which prompted her relatives to rush her to a local hospital.
Yang was in critical condition when she was admitted to the hospital; she had a fever of 39 degrees Celsius and was showing the signs and symptoms of meningitis. After receiving several antibiotics treatment, Yang is now said to be in stable condition and is recovering at the Ningbo hospital in eastern China.
Yang was diagnosed with Cavernous Sinus Thrombosis, which means she got a blood clot in her cavernous sinuses (the hollow spaces behind each eye socket and right under the brain). Doctors say that she got this infection after she popped a pimple on her nose's tip, which is part of an area called the "Triangle of Death."
What Is the Triangle of Death on Your Face?
According to experts, the "Triangle of Death" is the face area that includes the nose and corners of the month. The triangle of death is connected to areas of the skull via blood vessels, so its easier for infections to spread quickly. If the skin is broken in this particular area, bacteria can easily invade and attack your brain.
Several repercussions can occur if this happens: you can suffer facial paralysis, lose your vision and motor functions. And, like in Yang's case, you can develop cavernous sinus thrombosis, which can increase your chances of suffering a stroke or dying - even if you get immediate medical attention.
Experts say that bacteria in the triangle of death have a shorter distance to travel to do more significant damage to the brain and the body, versus a break in the skin elsewhere. Breaks in skin can come about by nose picking, plucking (not trimming) nose hairs, and anything else that breaks the skin's barrier. So, avoid popping your pimple, or if you see that has pus - consult your doctor immediately.
How To Deal With Pimples on Your Face
If there are pimples on your face that are bothersome, then don't pick them! Instead, it would help if you opted to treat them with tea tree oil and salicylic acid products. Tea tree oils have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that can reduce swelling, inflammation, and redness. Salicylic acid helps with unclogging pores and exfoliating.
The best product you can use to target a pimple is Zit No More from The Better Skin Co. This roll-on product has salicylic acid with three soothing essential oils: rosehip, rapeseed oil, and rosewood oil. These ingredients and more work together to treat acne. It penetrates pores to clear acne blemishes and helps prevent new pimples from popping up.
Vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free, Zit No More is quick and easy-to-use. All you have to do is wash your face thoroughly and then cover the affected area with one or three layers daily. It is recommended that you start with one layer first so that you can see how your skin responds to the product as some drying of the skin may occur.
